sounds like some body likes shiny parts look to me like it would hold more heat thats just more stuff in the way buy a cold air kit if u worry bout heat- red wagon

i took mine out completly not had any problems that way if u want mor power u give it more skinny pedal less power less pedal u got to have gages though my motor been rebuilt fire ringed and head studed though- red wagon

12 valve towing less smoke
the smokes raw fuel if you put more air in ther you can cut down on that problem if you dont want smoke buy a gas burner but your gona get half the gas milage and never the the add ons- red wagon

what to do for towing mirrors
the electrick one will hook up to your old electick mirror plug i put some on mine u have to trim the mirror stud or the door panel want fit tight- red wagon

Stalling/loss of power when warm.
pull the delivery valves out and clean them. could be the heat geting to the injecting pump silonoid they are about 75 dollars- red wagon
