need help in Longmont, Co.
Hey all, One of my aquaintences/customers is en route back home and having issues with his truck. He is moving back east (of here, not 100 percent sure where his final destination is). His truck has been running progressivly worse and a mechanic he stopped at yesterday spent 3 hours on it...- punkmechanic

Truck problems
if the output shaft sensor goes wonky it could be locking up the torque converter. or the converter could be going bad as was mentioned. I would get the "tech" that did it and find his manager/ shop owner and raise the level of **** to above the chest wader mark! There is no excuse for...- punkmechanic

Need help getting to cold for this
Make sure that that wire moves the door the full amount of travel. I have had 7 customers in the last year bring me a truck with "no heat" only to find a pen/pencil/something holding the blend door part way open and the a/c was cooling the heat down (on brick nose up, the defrost kicks the a/c...- punkmechanic

OBS and BODY lift ???'s
I havent done a 3 inch body lift on an obs but I have raised quite a few cabs in my dealership days (dont even get me started on how f(&ing stupid an idea ford pulled on that one!). Nitro, I live south of you in Portland just off 205, Depending on your route, you could stop by here on your way out and I can check your timing and give it a "once over" with a set of "trained" ears. 2001 TDI Just bought and now it surges. Help
Look behind egr valve ( remove charger air tube and look through egr into intake bend) It is probably plugged with gooey black carbon buildup. also check your pump for fuel leaks, check return lines, look for air in return line, and be sure the shut off flapper in intake stream is fully open...- punkmechanic

Met Tom and Dylan this evening and (as said above) looked over the truck and test drove it. Its in great shape for the year and age, paint is so so but no rust through anywhere that I could see and body lines are straight. Doors open easy and close solid, as does hood. if it is 94-97 the fuel pump nut under the turbo pedistal is a major pain without an open end 1 1/4" open end/box end wrench. the glow plugs are easiest to get out with a 1/4" drive snap on 10mm deep well (thinner wall than craftsman) Rose wood diesel makes an injector cup remover/installer...- punkmechanic

Will Ether cause the glow plugs to swell?
It will expand them if they are on and glowing (think heating a nail head to glowing orange and smacking it with a hammer, same concept with heated air).
