No title free truck worth it?

Um, duh! Free truck ALWAYS = Yes! Jump first, figure out details later. Worst case scenario you end up with a whole truck full of swappable parts. Shoot, one salvaged lug nut and you're money ahead!

    94 E350 RV sitting for 10 years! 390k miles....

Also, don't forget to fill your fuel filter with diesel before you start all the cranking. I've killed whole batteries just trying to fill it while cranking the engine to drive the mechanical lift pump.

    84 F-250 full rebuild

Awesome! Can't wait to see your progress. Take lots of pics along the way and post them here, often! When it's too cold to be in my shop, I like to live vicariously through other's determination and will that vastly outpace my own.

1986 Single Cab Dually F350 for sale near Portland

I need to get off this site. Two trucks, a project, and two idi long blocks sitting on my shop floor with a third on its way..... Why am I here? Ohhh, that one looks nice. Maybe a quick email...

    EBAY TURBO BUILD

Help me out here, I might have missed it. What manifold is this? What does the passenger side look like? I can't seem to visualize what's going on here... (but am very curious!) Edit: I checked out the original linked thread, and sure enough, there's all the info I was looking for. Look at me...

Quick tip for those who have bypassed their glow plug relay

Good tip! I disconnected my dinger so that doesn't work. I just count to somewhere between 8 and 12 depending on how cold I am. But sometimes that works against me, because the colder I am the faster I count. Maybe I should plug that dinger back in again....

I need battery help on a Diesel Van

I love that this thread was revived after 10 years purely to further the pun. Further proof this is the best board on the net. I'd hate for this weighty of a subject to go soft, after all.

Can 9v 7.3 GPs handle 12v if used carefully?

For what it's worth, I built my own harness using just a solenoid and a push button and completely removing any and all trace of the controller. Using bullet style plugs, shooting them with a full 12v straight from the battery (yeah yeah, via the solenoid, technically). Here in NW Montana I...

NJ to ID - Road trip time!

Welcome to our great state! Sounds like you're going to beat feet this last leg, but if you need anything I'm just a couple hours north of Missoula. Ive got spare parts, timing meter, and hot coffee. If you decide to detour, I'd love to host ya. Otherwise, here's your virtual wave! Glad you...

Project! Introducing Smokey Pete, the 1989 F250.

Update time. It goes. But really, that's the update. I drive it everyday, and I love it. I get thumbs up at every single stoplight I stop at. Offers to buy it from every mechanic and tire shop I visit (ok, that's like 3, from picking friends up). Runs great, gets 17mpg city and 21 on a trip...

Trying to upgrade DD on a budget

One tip I've found is to find the people who don't know what they have. A search for "zf-5" means you're looking at a very small subset of people who understand the value of it to list it that way. But someone who has a rusted out manual truck in their front yard and their husband just left town...

DT 360 swap - the planning stages

Not sure how much you guys are on YouTube (seems to be my drug of choice these days) but there's a guy that put a 3126 into an F350, OBS I believe. Worth checking out, he ran into some problems, but it runs and drives after he's overcome them. And he's documented it every step of the way...

Brand new glow plugs, still no start

If you can spend a bit more, here's a great deal on what I believe is the best solenoid for the glow plugs. It's what Wes puts in his kits, and is rated for continuous duty. https://www.supplyhouse.com/sh/control/product/~product_id=586-105111 After having numerous Napa ones fail at $40ea, I...
