New truck
If you decide to chip your truck, this is what I would suggest as well. The Juice is not the highest powered chip available, but it's very good at doing what it was designed to do. The Attitude monitor is nice to have too.- killer

Edge Juice with attitude ?'s
For regular driving, I went with level 3. There wasn't much smoke on that level. I didn't tow anything with my truck, so I can't say how much you can get away with there.- killer

2004 fuel or injector problem.... or something else
That sounds a lot like my GMC 6.0L gas job when the fuel pump checked out. I don't know about the black smoke, but everything else sounds like a lift pump or injection pump problem.- killer

Different applications, but the same engine. It will be up to the service department of wherever you take yor truck to decide if they can work on it or not. There might be cases where they can't. Probably they wouldn't be able to scan for codes or diagnose an electrical problem. But a lot...- killer

As far as I know, Cat doesn't have a non-Cat application that a Cummins engine is not available in. Yeah, a Peterbilt is a non-Cat application, but you can get a Cummins in one too. You won't find a C-15 in a New Holland tractor, and the New Holland dealer won't service it for you. They might...- killer

Another reason I'd consider a Cummins over a Cat is that there are more applications for an N-14 (that I can think of, anyway) than there are for a Cat. Case IH, New Holland and I think Agco tractors use N-14s, if I'm not mistaken, which gives you a few more options for labor. Those makes of...- killer

Fuel Mileage - Be Honest
An Imperial gallon is 4.54 litres. A U.S. gallon is 3.79 litres. Multiply miles per Imperial gallon by 3.79, and divide by 4.54 to get miles per U.S. gallon. I think. The last time I checked mine, I got about 17.5-18.5 (U.S. gallons). My truck had 34,000 miles on it at the time, Juice...- killer

Is there a setting that you can put it on that puts out less power? It seemed like I was getting better mileage at lower settings on my chip than higher settings, though I don't have any numbers to back that up.- killer

2005 GMC - no power over 3000rpm
And the answer is... fuel pump. It was only pressuring up to 30psi, supposed to be at 60psi. I guess now it's supposed to work good. It should, for $1100. I still have to pay for the megacab I rented too, which probably won't do much for the boss' spirits.- killer

2005 GMC - no power over 3000rpm
My work wagon is a 2005 GMC 2500 4x4 with a 6.0 and an automatic. Recently it has been acting up. It won't rev over a certain rpm, which can vary from 2500-4000rpm. Just got a new truck what kind of power adder?
Do your A-Pillar Attitude mounts retain the grab handle? I don't think I've ever seen a picture of one that shows one way or another. I've just got mine velcro'd to the dash. I need the grab handle to guarantee that I don't end up on my lid getting in the truck.- killer
