How hot is too hot?
The overheat light always kicked on at 242 degrees while towing over the Eisenhower tunnel with the some off name thermostat I used during the engine rebuild. 6.9 vs 7.3 Injection Lines
I had a broken 6.9 and 7.3 #8 line laying around and comparing the two, the 6.9 is longer then the 7.3 but no difference in ID from both. I cut the flares off and confirmed with a dial caliper. This would prove the theory that the 6.9 line would have a smaller diameter, and achieving the injector pop pressure sooner but who knows. Yet another cold start problem..
Ive noticed this myself as well. I am starting to believe that the turbo is an air choke and it's not getting enough air for the first few compression cycles. I am going to start by cleaning the air filter and see if that does anything.- jetfly12

I've had my finger between there and the advance cylinder to see if it was the weep hole. It was dry there and diesel continued to drip on the bottom. Sometimes I see the Allan head closest to the injector lines dripping diesel directly off it.- jetfly12

Got a leak underneath the IP and its become worse since the long road trip, and it appears to be coming from one of these two screws inside the red circle in the picture below. Just pulled the Eisenhower grade at about 12.5k gross on Saturday. This is the 4th time I have pulled this hill with my idi and all I can say is I am now happy. Intercooler heavy duty testing run.
It appears to be the type 118 from froozenboost.com. It measures 26x7x2" Same one I have and it works well.- jetfly12

I went with a water to air set-up kit, purchased all through froozen boost. Included all the hoses and fittings, 400$ shipped to my door 2 days later. Yes, very! As I grow older though I have thought about starting over and do something a little more simple and start exploring and give up rock crawling and breaking stuff. Those are all some good ideas! I should have looked for a 38 gallon tank before starting this fuel system. But for now I am just going to keep it simple and easy!
