Ate 2 sets of gps in a month or so

That I don't know. I've never worked on a 6.9, but the 6.9 and 7.3 use different glow plugs.

Ate 2 sets of gps in a month or so

The first thing I'd eliminate is if the glow plugs are being over-volted. At the relay/controller unit there is a wavy Z-shaped shunt resistor that connects the outlet post of the relay to a post on the controller. The end of that resistor at the controller post is where the wiring harness for...

Ate 2 sets of gps in a month or so

Did this problem start about the time you wired in a manual switch? Is the system still original otherwise?

    7.3 starting issue

Does kind of sound like air intrusion. I'd wipe the valley pan as clean and dry as you can get it and also the exterior of the injection pump. Then keep checking it over time and see if you're weeping fuel from anywhere. Ever done the seals in the hard line from the fuel filter to the...

    new motorcraft glow plug issues

Yeah, test the resistance of the old and the new. For the autolites you took out you can test them with one lead on the connector end and one lead on the threads. For the motorcraft in the motor test them with one lead on the connector end and one lead on a good ground surface on the motor. A...

    Harbor fright compression gauge

I don't have a Harbor freight compression tester, I have a KD, so I've not personally dealt with this adapter problem. That said, if you look at the end of the adapter, not the quick-connect end, the other end, you'll see it has a tapered seat, like a brake bleed screw. That's what seals your...

I think i done burned up the starter

Have you got smoke coming out the exhaust? That's where you need it. I doubt you could get a hard line installed in the wrong place. Did you floor the accelerator while cranking. 60 seconds worth of cranking would probably be enough to fill the injector lines if you were floored but I doubt...

    7.3 dies at full throttle

If you leave it in park so you can rev it to 3300 rpm with only partial throttle does it still stall out or does it need to be floored? My guess is a problem with housing pressure inside the pump, or possibly some funny business going on with the governor inside the injection pump. Inside the...

U Joint Size? At Part Store Waiting!

The caps off the old U joint didn't seem loose in the yoke in the first video you posted. Get a pair of calipers and measure what's left of the old caps, the new caps, and the yoke bore. Get some numbers.

U Joint Size? At Part Store Waiting!

They give you one of the 1.063/1.188 combo U-joints by mistake? You got a pair of calipers?

    Pinion leak just started

After getting the driveshaft off I was surprised that the yoke was actually loose on the pinion shaft. You could see where the yoke and the pinion nut had actually worn into each other a little bit because of the yoke being able to wobble. Anyway all is good now, I hope. Thanks 2slow.

    Pinion leak just started

So the truck in a 1988 F250 7.3 10.25 sterling, I noticed an oil stain on the ground today under the pinion of the truck's rear axle. It's a brand new leak. I took a video of the play in the pinion here. I've read a little about this issue here and elsewhere and apparently the 1st generation...

    Hard Fuel Line possible adapters/connections

You could just use some stainless safety wire and a clamptite type tool. You could also use some stainless safety wire and just twist it until it's tight, not cut into the hose tight, but somewhat tight, and do two of them. Doesn't look as good as a clamptite tool does but two will do the job...

6.9 timing Where did the 8.5* come from

You ought to do a compression test.

6.9 timing Where did the 8.5* come from

You are setting the timing at 2000 rpm and not at idle right? I have the ferret timing adapter and I have found that the best timing for me is 10 degrees. When doing a little reading about timing these engines it was mentioned that diesel fuel nowadays, because of the reduced sulfur and...
