It does for me with a 1/4" drive 5/16 or 11mm deep socket. You could shim it with washers or a bushing between the clamp's T and the nut, if you have to.
Pesky worm gear clamp on the lower radiator hose at the radiator kept working loose. I happened to be at Harbor Freight and saw these. The largest ones fit.

1G type of alternator? If so, check the two wire plastic connector to see if it has come out/loose. It has a plastic spring on the plastic fitting that can break. If that's unplugged, the alternator won't turn on.

Do you have the transmission connected to the radiator cooler like it should be? Even with an extra cooler, it seriously needs it to be connected or it'll cook the transmission.
