Transmission problems
It should be part of the harness that plugs into the side of the transmission, and goes to computer on the driver's side of the firewall. The manual would have the diagram of what pins connect directly to what, could test the wiring for continuity.- chief1983

If this is an E4OD, couldn't the filter have dropped into the pan? I thought reverse not engaging was a well known symptom of that. That said, I had a 4L60E with a similar issue, and it was definitely internal damage. Had completely lost reverse. Had to be sure to park uphill if I couldn't...- chief1983

Like I said, try a dedicated transmission shop with a reader, a lot will pull codes for free out of good faith you might bring them real work some day or recommend them, etc. The dealer charged me as part of overall diagnostics they performed once, but the trans shop actually said they couldn't...- chief1983

If the headlight switch burns up because the full headlight current runs through it (dunno if it does like on my K5) you can upgrade to the HD headlight harness, it is usually required for HID upgrades and the like but takes the current out of that part of the system and puts it into relays and...- chief1983

If the temp sender that tells the controller to turn off the plugs isn't working correctly, you could have an issue with the plugs being run too long by the controller. I imagine that would swell almost any plugs. The controller itself might not be interpreting that signal correctly and...- chief1983
