found a good prospect : 1988 Econoline camper , so clean !!!! problem is it has a 5.8L gas with a C6 3 speed auto : gas guzzler I may trow a 6.5TD in it ! then 4x4 conversion ...........- bigdan

Ill probably go for the chevy 6.5TD then ,,,,,, I heard regurarly 12L/100 , 18mpg US- bigdan

seems that the fuel consumption is quite different between those two .... I spoke to a lot of powerstroke owners .....they average 15L/100 or 14mpg US.....- bigdan

I was always told to get a manual tranny cummins because the auto is too weak ! so The Nv4500 aint stout enough for the cummins 5.9 ???- bigdan

Already have a subject started on the 5.9L cummins 12V specs , Since i dont want to pollute my first subject, i started this one .... Project : start with a base ram pickup 2500 or 3500 , get rid of the original box to transform it into a 4x4 camper ! reasons : I have a 94 VW...- bigdan

this is still a project ..... I have no vehicle yet ..... This is why I ask infos before i do any move ..... I would definitely install an intercooler and better turbo + injectors to get the maximum out of it ( performance/economy ) I wanted to know if this Ram pickup was a good...- bigdan

thanks a lot for the reply , I could get a 1989 ram 2500 with NV4500 5 speed at real 107,000 milles for $1000.00 the cab is quite rusted but the engine + tranny + diff run great .... old man of 76 years old who owned it since new ....took great care of it ! does it have the "P"...- bigdan
