Dont know about injectors i believe it is a fuel supply issue. I am going to bypass fsv and put a electric pump on it.- alwayslost

I got a 1984 6.9 2wd from a guy at work for free truck died on him and he never fixed it. So i got truck running had lots of air in fuel system truck runs great and starts great only issue is any time i try to go over 45mph truck misses and blows bluish white smoke out of exhaust. diesel conversion
So I'm thinking with a turbo and cam these engines run pretty good. I have a 302 in it right now and its kind of gutless. I had a built 289 in it witch was carb and it ran good but 10 mpg got old. The 302 in it now gets 13 mpg. So if I can get some performance and fuel mileage it would be great- alwayslost

So idi even turboed are still kind of gutless. I don't need anything that is super fast I would by a mustang if I want to go to the drag strip. How do the idis compare to the powerstroke 7.3s- alwayslost

Lookin to put a diesel in my 1986 f150. But I keep going back and forth between a idi and cummins. What do you guys think do the idi run pretty good and get good fuel mileage. Or should I go cummins. I would turbo the idi and put a pump on it if that makes any differance. Will not do a lot with...- alwayslost
