i did not realize that you had to have it balanced, ok i will find a shop to mail it out to. Thank you for your reply. The only part that isnt lining up is the intake around the cold side turbine, when i tighten the bolts down more than finger tight the turbine will no longer spin.

so now im thinking this may be oil leaking down through the valve guides, or hope fully not but entirely possible low compression...then fuel not combusting. not sure where to start or if i want to put that kind of money into this truck.
What they said above is what i found a few weeks ago, with a diesel engine oddly enough the fuel that is not fully combusting comes out as white smoke. Thats why i have sort of believed it to be either injectors leaking or putting excess fuel into the engine. Or more likely the IP which controls...
I will try this tomorow after work, ill drive the wifes car to let it set overnight if i have to. I have a new filter waiting to go on so ill just put this in once ive let it run for a few with the new filter. then remove it to put some power service in, run it for 3 min. let it set overnight...
are you sure about this? sounds like everyone else believes it to be the ip going out, which maybe it isnt air intrusion then and is just an ip going bad. maybe its just this piston not sure. it is possible, its got 209k on it and its most likely the stock heads so they could be staring to leak...
