Depending on where you are in Tennessee, you are looking at about a 10 hour drive each way. Any chance you have a trailer you can put it on and tow it home? Might need a winch to get it on the trailer.
If you know how to bypass the glow plugs quickly, I could have the batteries charged and...
Hi,
Its been some time since I have been on here, but its time for my truck to go. I just listed it in the Marketplace, here is the link to it:

Hopefully someone here will be interested.
Its time for the truck to go, but I don't want it to go to the scrap heap, I'm sure someone here might be interested.
Its an 85 F250 4x2 6.9l with 200k miles. A bunch of pictures are at the link below. It has not run for 2 years, the glow plug circuit is the issue. It will crank strong and...
Thanks for all of the input. I got out the voltmeter and did some testing. I ended up replacing the voltage regulator, and now it seems to be doing better. I also redid all of the connectors into the regulator as they were severly corroded. I think that it might have been the original regulator.
I think that the mechanic basically did just put a voltmeter on the battery as he said at idle there was only 12 volts and above idle it went to 13.5.
The batteries are less than a year old, so I'm pretty sure they aren't the culprits.
Thanks for the input.
Hi,
Got a problem. When I was doing work on replacing the return lines this weekend, I threw the battery charger on batteries and was surprised how drained the batteries were. Now, I only drive this truck on relatively short trips and it only gets used about once a week.
When I was...
I have a VW Jetta diesel and love it. It is a '02 and I get about 48 mpg. I think VW still is selling a diesel powered Jetta, Golf, New Bettle, and Passat. For awhile they were selling a diesel powered Tourage that had a V-10 twin turbo that output 551 ft-lb of torque, not sure if they still...
I did my valve covers on my '85 6.9 this fall. I got the gaskets at Advanced Auto. They were Fel-Pro's. What worked for me was a set of 1/4 inch sockets and a 1/4 inch universal/flex thingy.
I'm planning on putting a set of those in this spring along with reworking all of the light wiring. I was going to get all of my parts from LMC Truck. I'm also interested in other's experiences.
