The '89 Dually I sold my sister is open. My other 3 crewcabs (2 SRW and 1 Dually) are Limited Slip.
I've also had 2 460 powered Crew Cab Duallys and they were both limited slip.
We've been taking good care of it for sure. Right now it is sitting in my shop waiting for me to put new brakes on it tonight. On saturday it is getting new tires. Hopefully within the next year it will get a gearvendor.
My '85 Hauler. It was converted by Schwalbe Mfg. when it was new. They added the 55" sleeper and the hauler bed. I believe it spent the first part of its life in Wyoming. The second owner used it as a Hot Shot truck. He had some sort of loan against it and defaulted. It took the Repo man nearly...
My current '88 F350 . The original owner bought it (in Oregon) to haul his cabover camper. He had the lift put on, the air bags installed, etc. He traded it in '94 then the second owners bought it. They were semi retired and living in a Airstream. They took it to Tucson for a while then moved up...
That's basically what we do every year. I take my 18' car trailer and decorate it. I run an inverter off the winch battery, run lights, strobes and a smoke machine. We get as many kids as we can on it and go thru the neighborhood. The Kids, parents and most of the houses we stop at love it. There...
It is most likely a LWB Cab/Chassis truck. Most Hot Shot type haulers were built on Cab/Chassis trucks. Mine was a Cab/Chassis standard cab on a 190"wb. The back of the cab was cut out and a 55" sleeper added to it.
Well it's interesting looking. Defintely makes my old hot shot truck look nice even after all the neglect it got after I sold it. I need to find some pics of my '85 from when I first bought it.
I'm getting ready to cut a couple trucks and make a 6 door IDI. I'll be using the '88 in my signature and a '92 crew cab dually 460 truck as my "donors". If all goes well when it is finished it will be a 6door 4wd Turbo IDI Dually.
I'm planning to start cutting some time in August. Was going...
We are probably going to the Tahoe event too. This year I will have my '39 Ford truck. It's channeled 6 inches over a '53 Chev frame with a '34 grill. Powered by a Wicked tunnel rammed 383. We will also be using our '72 Riviera Boattail unless I have the '62 Cadillac done by then.
As a fellow Hot August Nighter when your in Reno and need to work on something I have a nice shop at my house 10 miles north of town.
Rot Box Hot August Nights is a 10 day Car event celebrating the 50's and 60's. There are 5500 cars registered in the event and they estimate 6000 more show...
It is all steel and welded into the cab. They basically cut the back wall and part of the cab roof out. Then built the sleeper frame from square tube then covered it with sheet metal. The sleeper has a flat floor in it. there is plenty of room in it.
I've considered cutting out the 2 door cab...
My '85 Hauler built and stretched by the same company that built that craigslist truck has nearly 600k miles on it. the frame stretch has never given any indication of weakness. When that truck was my main hauler it rarely moved without a trailer attached. I used to weigh in over 30k pounds on a...
On my Truck which was built by the same company (except 2wd) they stretched and plated the frame. It also has a 3 piece driveshaft with 2 carrier bearings. It's built on a Cab/Chassis frame, not sure if they were available in 4wd from the factory.
That is a Schwalbe coversion similiar to my '85. I've only seen a hand full of these trucks over the years. This makes only the second 4 door one I've seen. The other 4dr was in an old US Gear brochure.
