GOT A NEW IDI DONT EVEN HAVE TO CHANGE MY NAME - 77 FORD

Well tecnically I should not have the TD part until I turbo it, but it is a 84 frame.

Does anyone know the history on this truck? I know it was built in PA, 77 front and 78 bronco rear, sitting on a F350 chassis with maybe a 6.9 or 7.3(how do i tell?)

The immediate needs are...
brakes, something is not right, is it hard to do a hyroboost conversion?
clutch, the linkage is all wrong and the clucks is rock hard and way too high off the floor.
tires, not sure if military wranglers suck in general or its just these but the truck shakes really bad at highway speeds.

That thing is amazing. Not many of those made. How much did you get her for if you don't mind me asking.

The head bolts on the 6.9 are 7/16" and the 7.3 use 1/2". Just grab a 12 point socket and see which one fits.

Those tires are really good for the road(not much else) i would check for balance or bent wheels

I have see a lot of trucks being in the business for 10 years and I think that I can honestly say that I have never seen a 4 door Bronco that body style. Quite a find Congrats!That thing is sweet

I wonder if you just think the clutch and brakes are hard because they are fully mechanical with no power assist. I know that's the way the clutch on the NP435 is unless someone converted it to a hydraulic. Brakes, I don't know but I was told the real old Fords were all mechanical brakes with no power assist. Yep best way to tell between a 6.9 and 7.3 is find a head bolt and see if the 1/2 or 7/16 socket fits it.

EDIT AT 12:45AM Guess it's too late to do that he ran out the limited amount of checks.

I would guess that's a Centurian conversion from the 70's. Very cool!

from what I understand centurion never did that body style.

Thanks for the compliments, Once I get the bugs worked out it will be an amazing rig. I will get some more pics this weekend, it really blows how its dark when I get off work these days.

Not a centurion, I am not sure but I dont think they were in production until the late 80's. I was told this truck was custom built be someone up in PA.

There is vacuum assist on the brakes but they feel barely better that trying to stop with no assist at all, worse than manual brakes.

The clutch is manual linkage so I know it will be harder but the linkage broke at some point and it was re welded and the angles are all off and the pedal is like a foot off the floor but it only goes in 6 in. Its a weird system anyway, the linkage comes off the top of the pedal onto a bracket that connects to a rod that goes straight down to a lever on the side of the trans. I am toying with the idea of just making it a automatic, I need to do some research, at least a ZF and hydro is in order!

I am looking for smaller tires without the death bounce.
