Would this remote mount work well if you were just running the psd turbo under the truck(I assume that its off a psd)? Seems like you would have very little restriction in the exause side and as long as you had good intake piping it seems like it would work well. Is the turbo under the truck gated or no.....I didnt see a actuator but it could be hiding. Does the stock fuel lift pump get the oil back up to the engine(awesome idea) . Looks very cool, what kind of boost #'s have you seen? -Brad-

Dieselguy: That turbo will work, but, it's exhaust housing is even bigger than the one on my non gated Banks... Would be waaaay up there in rpm by the time it spooled.

Yes it's a wastegated psd turbo. I think it would work fine on its own. I pinched the tube to the wastegate to do a little experimenting. Prior to that I had not seen much over 5 psi even pulling the TT with my foot on the floor. With the wastegate line pinched I hit 8 psi, But when I was taking the pics tonight I realized that the line got blown off, so I had a leak. I'll keep testing.

Originally, I was going to let it gravity feed back into the oil pan. I had Ken at DPS weld a bung in but I found out during the install that it was too long, too high and too far forward to get a fitting on it. I'm glad that it didn't work, because before I added the check valve, when the truck would sit for a few days oil would fravity feed back into the turbo and would actually leak past the bearing resulting in a drip from the exhaust side of the turbo. Since adding the check valve, I haven't had a drip, so I think it's keeping up.

Today with the TT in tow I had 15 psi at the motor and 8 from the psd turbo. I have yet to cross the 700 deg egt line yet, though. Driving to and from the rally, there were some serious hills to climb. I'd just set my boost gauge at 10 and let it ride. One hill had me down to 30 mph in 2nd gear (c6) but egt's were 650.

I am really thinking about going this route with the turbo mounted under the truck, I just think it is really cool and it is simple, Is there some type of electric pump you could use to push the oil back up into the motor? I am still using my mechanial, although i suppose i could just put an electric pump on for that, what do you think would be an IDEAL size turbo for this type of application, also Gated or non-gated. I have a holset from a 5.9 cummins in my garage, would this work? its off an 89' -Thanks-
