I have my old hitch for sale. I bought it in September of 2013 when I bought my truck and used it until March of 2015. I recently pout a flatbed and big bumper on so the hitch is no longer needed. It is in very good shape and shows very little signs of usage. I'll just use these 3 links for the item specifics:

http://www.amazon.com/Curt-15300-Class-Trailer-Hitch/dp/B00AFVRF8Y

$110 plus shipping. I have the original box to ship it in. It is a 62lb box with dimensions of 43"x11"x21" leaving from zip 47909

Thanks

Do you have pics of this on a truck? Looks like it will hang low. Did the spare fit with it?

That looks just like the unit I put on my truck. It's a nice piece. There is probably a pic in my build thread but it's probably not a lot of help. Spare tire should be no problem though. It's even with the inside of the frame rails.

I have one on my 93 also. It's a good hitch. Fits perfect with a factory style step bumper.

JUST! Not an engineering prizewinner!
If I recall ya have to use a jack to lower the spare cuz the tireiron deal ya use to drop it is blocked!
But its doable' just clears the spare an oversize may cause greif?!

I think you would have to use jack with any of hitch. These spares suck.I always thought of a winch set up like in newer trucks but never got ambitious enough. I'm looking for a hitch with max tow rating and these are the biggest I found. To bad he is so far away. Shipping would too much.

Agreed re: shipping...I'd be all over this if shipping wouldn't make it cost-prohibitive.

Regarding the winch setup, IIRC some people have looked into it, and it's not really practical unless you eliminate the rear fuel tank; if memory serves, the winch mechanism is pretty big. It's a shame too; I'd love to do something like that...

Toyota truck" windlass"/winch?
The ones on the 83 are about 5" thick siting above the tire under the bed.
Holds up a 31-10.50-15 with a homemade skidate on mine just fine.
One of several available in wreckin yards.
Just a thought.

Here is is with the factory regular bumper and one with no bed/bumper

I always kept my spare in the bed so I don't know about that. I wasn't game for jacking with that headache in a snowstorm

Just for an idea, all calculated online with Googled zip codes with Fedex:

$78 gets it so San Francisco, CA

$47 gets it to Atlantic City, NJ

$46 gets it to Houston, TX
