I have an oil leak coming from around the dipstick tube connection to the block. The tube became loose in the clamp of of the valve cover and was working each time the dipstick was pulled. I have rectified that problem with heatshrink tubing on the tube , this secures it in the clamp very tight. I am sure that the seal at the bottom is compromised. It appears that there is a square cut tapered grommet that seats in a groove at the end of the tube ? Is this right ? I assume this will be a dealer item. it looks as though a conventional o ring will likely push up the tube if I were to try that. Any experience with this ? Thanks in advance fro your replies.

Best bet is remove the rube. Clean both the tube and the block fitting. then apply rtv to the tube and stick it in the fitting. Never leak again.
