Luk clutch/ flywheel kit is in. 07-226 kit from Parts Geek for $282. They had a $15 off on purchases over $300 so I threw in a MOOG U-Joint to replace one of my front joints at the wheel, which basically cost me $4. I call that a win.

Three of the 6 springs in the flywheel were busted, and one of those was gone altogether. Surprised I didn't have any bigger problems happen. The clutch side piece was deeply grooved from that one spring working it's way out.

I'd say, you caught that just in time before it caused real damage, like busting the bell housing, shear input shaft and tear hell out of the tranny guts.

Was the old one actually a dmf?
My brothers did that but it was the clutch disc itself.
His and mine already had smf installed when we got them. I found it strange in a way. But the smf setup is cheaper, so it makes sense.
