Smoked AC compressor

ok, have a bypass pulley and want to pull the compressor. (yes the bearing was bad, making grim noises, . . .)
Did some searching and found nothing. What am I going to need to do when pulling it? None of my books want to tell and I haven't found a good thread here. If someone knows of one and can give me a link that would be great, or if someone would tell me what to watch out for and if I need some tool I don't have, that also would be great.

You don't say the year, but I'll assume you have serpentine, as you mentioned E40D.
Anyways, just pull the pump. And bolt the bypass bracket in.
Shouldn't be much to it.
Be careful if you have "freon" in the system. Most will say to have it professionally evacuated.
I won't tell you one way or the other.
