Not trying to start anything.... but for what it's worth, after the 01 switch to PMR's in the 7.3, the 6.0 and 6.4, and probably the 6.7 have PMR's and I have not read about issues with the rods in high HP tunes.......

I do have to repair/ replace my up pipes. They are leaking. I have every intention of doing the bellows up pipes but the money on that will take some time.
What's your take on the ceramic coating in the up pipes? Worth it?

Go with the update pipes from International while you're doing it. They'll never leak again.

Ah! The intake plenum is on the right where the y pipe attaches and the turbo itself is on the left, in this pic. Is that correct? Lol, if so, it all makes sense now.

...I could have that backwards lol

the intake plentum is whats bolted to the heads. then the y pipe connects the intake plentums to the turbo.

i forget the build date of my 01. i think its june.
ill look later.
right now, i just got done putting a 389 in a 64 bonneville..
and now its nap time!

you can get a GTP 38 on e-bay for 400 bucks
pedestal = 150
bellowed down pipes = 250

vs.
600 for the bellowed OBS uppipes.
and you get rid of any future EBPV problems
and a rebuilt turbo thats an upgrade for an OBS
Where did you get bellowed up pipes for $250? Are they the Dorman up pipes?

thats exactly what happened, the up pipes were a direct fit.

if it comes down to you needing an intake.
i can do it for ya for 50 bucks shipped.
get your turbo first tho.
if you get a early 99 turbo, this will work.
if you get a 99.5-03, it will not

The SD bellowed up-pipes are only $170 on Amazon. They're Dorman, but so far everyone that uses them say they only have small issues installing them and after that, no problems. It's the Dorman exhaust manifolds that you want to stay away from.
