First problem. Crank No Start

I hit it with ether and it fired up. I had to go so I left it running. My wife is going to shut it off in a half hour. Now to see if it will start again on its own when I get home.

Could very well be a glow plug / relay / controller / wiring issue. Try the block heater trick mentioned above; BH can provide "surrogate" heat in the event of glow plug failure.

How can I check the glow plugs? It has new plugs in it. The previous owner had just replaced them. Motorcraft.

It started again. But it took a long crank. The glow plug relay is working.

So it's still not starting without a shot of ether. I tried plugging it in for an hour and half. No help. Trying to dermine if the glow plugs are bad. Once it has ran and is warm it restarts fine.

block heater must not be working, you can tell if you feel the upper rad hose after it's been plugged in for an hour or more should be warm (just warm, not hot).
