oil setting on valley pan

Was doing a little inspection the other evening, seen some oil on the pan below the intake as u hopefully can see in the pic.. has the banks sidewinder, 25 thousand ago the heads were replaced studs were replaced w ARP an new IP. That's the recent history as far as I know.where could this oil be coming from? Any other details and pics needed?

Check the air horn seal. Cdr does not drain on the banks, and the collected oil will flow into the intake.

OK I would check that seal,but not to familiar with turbo's and such. Can you explain where its located

Depending on what model of turbo you have the intake to turbo hat is an easy seal job. Now if you actually have the latest Banks wastegated sindwinder turbo the hat is black and it sits on top of the intake. To remove it there is a bolt thru the center of it thats a 9/16 head. There also is a hose with a clamp running from the aluminum side of the turbo. If you have a boost gauge it will have a 1/8 inch line fitting in the side of the hat to remove. Then just lift it off. Under it will be a gasket that can be found in any auto parts store. Its the gasket used for most any 4 barrel carb to air filter housing. I think its about 5 1/4 inch diameter. I use rtv on both sides of that gasket just to make sure it seals well. If this shows where your leak is I'm betting your boost has been a little low too because the pressure is leaking out and not going into the engine as it should. Can you take another pic of the intake to hat connection so we can aee closer to what it looks like. Usually any oily mess around there is a boost leak causing cdr blowby to mark its territroy.

are you talking about the seal from the drain pipe assy to the pan? if you are...no. the drain pipe is also the turbo support.

I have the same issue with the oily mist everywhere. If you remove the bolt in the hat then it will slide up on the turbo enough to sneak a gasket in on an 093?

That's what Im wondering. When I 1st put my turbo on I did not put the hat on first an had to pull the turbo to get it on.

Thanks for the great pics. Looks like the intake hat has a gasket leak and so does the boost gauge fitting. To remove the hat loosen the clamp on the rubber hose between the turbo and the hat. Then renove the line to the pressure gauge for boost. Then remove the center bolt. Its a 9/16 hex size. Then lift it off. You will see where the gasket is ruined and the oil is leaking out from easily. Any fake auto parts store sells the gasket. Tell them you want a 4 barrel quadajet air filter to carb gasket. I think they are 5 1/4 inch diameter but could be wrong too. Make sure it fits on the intake manifold opening and under the hat gasket surface. Use brakeclean to clean off all the mess. Then coat both sides of the new gasket with ultra copper rtv made by permatex. Its oil resistant and works very well. Be careful tightening down the center bolt. One member tightened it so much it beoke off the web that it threads into. There is not real need to horse down on that bolt. Only boost you see on the gauge is in their.

Thanks Icanfixall for the quick reply! I have two good auto part stores n town so one at least should have gasket an rtv, now I just need the time to do the job lol
