The air coming out of my vents is a cool 45 degrees. I am pretty pleased with that. Problem is it just won't cool down this crew cab truck. We are dealing with an ac system that is apparently designed for regular cab trucks.

I know that the blower motors in my new f-150 and my wife's expedition will blow your hat off on high, but this old truck just doesn't move very much air.

I have already done the crown Vic blower motor, and honestly saw very little change. I think I am about to start trying to figure something else out here. Maybe take the original with me to the yard and see what I can find that will fit.

Fat boy needs his air conditioning.....

Can one add a relay from the battery to the fan for more voltage?

I mean only having "high speed/turbo speed" would be a fair trade off to me.

Oh also, have you checked your airbox for leaks?

How can you increase the voltage when all you get is about 13 to 14 volts out of the altenator.
Did you mean increase the amperage which I dont know if that can be done.
Did you check the fan speed switch? Or check the blower motor resistor?
Both of those items control how fast the blower fan turn.

I did check the voltage to the blower yesterday. When I have 13.8 at the battery,(truck running) and with the blower running on high there is 12.6 volts at the connector. There is some voltage drop there, but I don't think there is enough to make it underperform.

I just think this is a system that was underpowered from the factory.

IIRC a few members have done that, most notably Midnight Rider. As I recall, he set it up so that there were relays on both the battery side and the ground side, with a cab-operated switch so he would have the standard low-through-high speeds, plus the "turbo high" speed when needed. As I recall, he said it made a noticeable difference...however, I haven't tried it myself.

One other thing to think about...did you replace the motor when you installed the Crown Vic squirrel cage? There's a very real chance that, if you didn't, the motor's bearings are on their way out...I've certainly had that problem with mine. I'm trying to limp the motor along for now, so I just pull it out periodically and spray some lithium grease into the bearings, but it's going to need to be replaced in the long run...

The crown vic blower and heater bypass make for a nice a/c in any condition in a properly working hvac system.

BTW, I've asked this a number of times before and have yet to see an answer...but, what year range of Crown Vics do we need to be looking at?

Thank you
