now ive only owned this truck for a few months now.. already done head gaskets.. the mileage is suppose to be 160k( the guy i bought it from said it turned once)
it is a 88 f350 manual trans 7.3 idi
now i have this random knocking that sounds like a rod is loose but intermittent.. its not there when first started and then after ran for say 2-3 min and you rev it, it knocks..
also noticed it only seems to be between 1700-2200 rpms
it don't knock when cruising with a load on the engine, like driving at a consistent speed unless your between the rpm range.. but if i down shift and use the engine to brake it knocks but some time it dont do it..
the ip pump and injectors is unknown ( i assume there oem)
i wonder if the clutch is messed up or the dual mass fly wheel is damaged?
looking for opinions before i decide to find another engine.
