Chris decided to see what was the weak link in his driveline, turns out it is the front 1/2 of the rear drveshaft!

So he limped the truck back to the campgound if Front Wheel Drive, but well need a driveshaft.

So if any on had a front half of a driveshaft for a 86 F350 CC 4x4 with a 5 speed,..

Thanks!

I can't speak with any authority, but I THINK that the '88 and '86 driveshafts use different U-joints...if I'm right, you'd need a custom setup to get the '88 driveshaft to connect to the '86 transfer case.

Hopefully someone who knows for sure will chime, but it's something to think about...

Well a crew has headed to Darrins shop to rebuild the intermediate shaft from some spare parts. I am stuck here at camp watching the kids as Karen had to work.

Probably the one I drug out of there would have bolted right in! LOL

Glad you got it working. Now, would you please ask Chris a question for me..."ask him if he still wants to make 400 HP?" :rotflmao:rotflmao

Here's the weak link
Also pictured: A view from the back seat of Darrin's truck, looking at the front of Rons truck. Behind Rons truck (not seen) would be Chris's truck, which was busy twisting a driveshaft in two.
The other pic is Mel, alongside the road (at the scene of the crime). Notice his technical consultant in the background.:rotflmao

That was a road trip to remember, thanks Chris. Now I know what NOT to do to my truck.:D

Mel's calling for a pizza!

WOW! I guess I didn't read that much carnage into the "need a driveshaft" post! You do good work! :)
