Towed to Eugene's body shop.

Checked door tag axle code 39 appears to be 3.55 open diff.

So with that I wont be doing much but as a matter of fact as little as possible to get beast running and swap out engines asap.

Thanks for looking

Based on what I see...and speaking to Ernie at West Coast Transmission...that actuator is a single piece you remove from INSIDE the trans after pan removal...

Thanks for looking.

The hardest part of that repair is pulling the roll pin out of the tranny case.
Change the manual lever seal while its apart.

Any tips on roll pin pulling?

Got seal and pan and shifter arm...lookikg pretty good for rest of parts for shift linkage too...thus once all parts in hand one can begine the task of re n re shift arm linkage pan a d a rear driveshaft

More to come once parts in hand....

Once truck running Son and I can decide keep or sell...he coughed up doh for it...his call but we can make a good bit if we sell and thats kewl. Start buying and fixing and selling a few rigs make some cash together.

Hey Al,
Following are some pic's of the linkage in my 90 F-250 parts truck.
I'm sure I posted these previously, but perhaps in the wrong thread.
Anywho - here they are again:

Hope this helps.

I use good sharp flush cutting pliers. Grab the end of the pin, give it a gentle twist and pull it out. Ford has a special tool for removing the pin. Trying to find that tool is harder than pulling the pin.LOL

When you install the pin, drive it just below the pan rail. Do not drive it all the way in.

Ok so shift arm and pan from west coast trans came in...looks like incorrect pan compared to mine...no biggy seeing as @ifrythings shipped a pan and linkage. It will be that pan I use and now to see if the linkage is correct. Hoping so...

So with that I got the blast cabinet into my shop...

attachment.php

The first real job was the shift arm.....I must say...finally found a use for teflon tape....so I thought :rotflmao...wrapped the shaft w teflon tape and blasted the arm...

attachment.php

Clearly that teflon tape was useless against the blast media...:rotflmao ...ahhh...no biggy lets see how it is for masking...

attachment.php

So there it is in all the glory..blasted painted and now in truck ready to take down and get installed next week.

Sure hope this isnt too bad a job...

BTW this was the first time in a very long time I dug out my teflon tape....a d about the only thing it would get used for too.

Thanks for looking

Electrical tape works wonders for sandblasting, do 3 or so coats of electrical tape and don't hold the blaster on it and you'll be good.

Mite want to look into changing that bushing on the shifter linkage so it doesn't fall out, Dorman makes one 74043 which can be hard to find or 14057 but only one in that kit is useful for you.
