Yes it will. Minor codes don't turn on the CEL. Major codes will turn on the CEL.

you can perform all kinds of tests with a good scanner.
a buzz test will tell you if you have a weak injector.
i hear good things about REV X, i havnt tried it yet, but i got some for the E350 when i do the next oil change...
supposed to clean out the injectors.

i run a Snap on Solus.
not a cheap piece.
others say AE works well, and i guess there are others.
i know cheap scanners wont do much.

my solus will do everything ill ever need, was a good investment for my trucks.

Depending on year, there's some phone apps that can do everything the big expensive scanners will do.
AE is said to be great.
Usually the cps is a go/no go type of deal. If running the wipers makes it shut off, that's a good sign to go with a different brand. There's been extensive research showing the Motorcraft isn't the best one, so search around. (Advance auto)
ICP sensor you can unplug. It'll default to a set pressure.
The 6.0 guys live off rev-x like it's crack. I've used hot shots secret, works well also.

So fluids, filters, check fuel pressure, ohm UVCH'S, clean ebp tube and sensor, and clean fpr screens, would be a good start.

I just ordered the "bluedriver" from lemur. Seems like a good setup with some rave reviews. For those that dont know, its basically a dongle that plugs into the obdii port and connects bluetooth to a smart phone connecting wirelessly and working within the app from the same people to provide a nice scan tool. I hope this is one like you guys were suggesting.

Should maybe work. Only one way to know. Lol
You may need a few other apps to go along with it. Car gauge pro (?) Is the one that will do the buzz test, and contribution test.
Torque can for sure show IPR Duty cycle, icp, etc.

I bought the AE package for the 6.0 and it has been great to use. AND you can race yourself over a road. :)
