The only reman starter I would use is from an old school shop.

I hate box store reman crap. Sometime that cheap Chinese crap is a better deal.

200 dollar starter, you figgure it would last longer than the 3 weeks that it did.

The autozone duralast gold has been doing me well.
It is the 100% new one.

That's interesting that a new Duralast starter is lasting you well. I have nothing but horror stories with regards to DuraCrap electrical anything. It reminds me of the old KEM brand: they can put whatever warranty they want on it, it's all ****.

The best luck I have with starters is rebuilding oems from the junkyard. If the starter is oem I would rather let the vehicle be down 4-5 days getting parts for the starter then replacing it with reman or knockoff. Most of the gear reduction starters simply where down the brushes till there is no contact. Install new brushes and your good to go.
Have a original starter with 100,000 miles, its a good time to pull it to install new bushings and brushes for the next 100,000.

I can agree there. Their batteries suck.
And I've beat on this starter pretty good.

The C hinese R eplacement A uto P arts that are out there is mind boggling. However keep in mind that even if you get a quality starter if the rest of the components (cables, etc) aren't up to ***** it will overwork the new starter and lead it to a short life.

Where do you get yours from?

Thanks in advance...

Depends, I have purchased brushes from SAS a "local" starter shop in Montana. If its in Montana its local.
There are a few seller on ebay that sell small starter and alternator parts, last seller I bought from was cssautoelectric.
