so im looking at building a 4wd hotrod.
the body is a mid 40's M-37
the frame is already shortened and Z'd
i have a DRW axle for the rear,
and a late 70's D44 for the front

i plan on using both of them with 37 x 12.5's on each corner.

both axles have 4:10 ratio.

any thing i should be looking at before i pull the trigger on the axle swap?

rear end is designed for early 60's truck arm suspension.

Are you going to run singles or duals? You can run singles on a DRW axle with the correct rims. I don't know what your rear axle is out of but you may have lug pattern problems???

front is late 70's ford, the rear is 89 F350

so both are 8 on 6.5

Mentioned it in someone's thread in the IDI section, but I have 37's on Bruiser's C&C DRW Sterling. Also using older 16.5" Budd wheels with 3.5" 6061 spacers. Haven't pulled anything to see if the internals wear in some ***** way, but have beat on it off road and pulled the 4 ton 5'er many times with the setup without failure. Deep dish wheels with a large enough center bore to not hang up on the full float hub might be better though.

I figured that much. It'll look sweet when you get it done...next century :D

Bruiser weighs in a bit under 3 tons before some beefier suspension components (with both spares and driver).
