Fuel economy upgrades for a 2011 6.7 powerstroke (on the cheap) suggestions

I am well versed on the old school mechanical diesels, add air and remove exhaust restriction fuel economy goes up add than add fuel until she smoke and back off a little and power increases bit this new computer/emission/computer crap is beyond me!

I was just wondering where to start? I was thinking DPF delete, cold air intake, that's the nuts and bolts part of it I am more referring to the software/hardware to maximize the benefit and the best all around value for my $$$!

At the O.P, those engines are designed to have that emissions crap on it and most likely will not react kindly to having it removed, throwing codes and using FADEC-type controls might actually hinder performance, and or make the truck completely stop running.
