So since my truck needs engine work. :puke:
I decided to do a build thread.
Right now I'm just waiting on parts but plan to start tearing into it in the next couple of weeks.
Here's what I'm planning on doing while I have it out.
HeadGaskets
HeadStuds
Reseal Oil Cooler
Rear Main Seal
Rebuild Top End
Type4 Cam
And Paint.
Today my lifters rods and rockers came in the mail. ;Sweet

You planning on a turbo since you are studding it?

Not anytime soon Right now I'm getting it setup for one.
While I have it out I figured I might as well Stud it and if I decide to add one I'll be ready to go.

Subscribed. Sounds like a good rebuild

Thanks. I was hoping I wouldn't have to tear into her this soon but guess it is what it is.
I'm kinda looking forward to it. Weird I know but gives me an excuse to get a Type4 Cam. :D

Nice. I did some work on a coworkers rendezvous and he gave me a 94 turbo idi crew cab dually that has diesel in crankcase and was sitting for 2 years. I'm digging into it and figured your build would be good assistance. I'll start one soon (trying to buy house first)

More pics! :D

Seriously, though, it's a good idea to stud it now so when you're ready you can just just bolt a turbo on.

go get yourself some plastic lidded bins.
each step, put the needed hardware in these.
it makes things alot easier and you will have less missing bolts

when you drop a bolt, take the time to pick it up.
cute flowers and butterflies lol

Oldbull8 the lifters where used but they have no wear so they'll be good anough.
Rockers are 7.3 Style. My truck also has the 7.3 style so I'll probably throw a set up for sale.
