OK, Put my Baby Moose into position. All the line fittings line up with the injector tops, except #1.

Same lines and injectors that fit and ran a few weeks ago. Line clamps weren't opened. The only thing that changed is the IP.

What obviously simple thing did I miss here? :dunno:dunno:dunno

when you swap lines on the IP, you can never get them to go back 100%.
if thats the pulse adapter under the bag, id say bend the line carefully.
i cant remember where #1 is on the pump, but if you can get to it, loosen it up.

For everyone looking. This is a van engine application. The number one cylinder is at the same place on the van engine as it is on the truck engine. Its right behind the alternator on the passenger side. Look at the 2 bolts on the intake manifold that holds it to the head. There is the cylinder number cast into the manifold. Some may need to scrape off some dirt to see it. Anyway on the vans they do not have the rotunda timing adapter mounted there. Only the truck engines have it there. the vans have the adapter on number 4 cylinder. Tih nk it time to loose the nut for that line at the pump if you can. Or its needing a bend to make it fit.

Oops, didn't intend to deceive, fellas. This is a truck engine in my van, with the truck lines! That is the adapter you're seeing. Duh!

Hoping to get to the back-of-the-IP fitting tomorrow.

Looking at my pics, yeah, I can see the misalignment:

Little tidbit gleaned from here...and uncle Sam.
Loosley assemble the entire setup then' Tighten them down.
On the db2 in these trucks you have to tighten the (? what) 3 bottom ip side lines first.
Once you got a basic alignment setup then you pull it back off and get them (?what)3 bottom ip side line nuts.
This helps get everyone in a happy place , in luding the wrench jockey!

This sounds just crazy enough to work, clb. I freely admit that I'm a newbie at this, so any suggestion is welcome.

Someone suggested to just bend the line to fit. I'm hesitant about this approach, though. Will exhaust other methods first!

Stay tuned.

The way it doesn't line up makes me wonder. Could the IP end of that hard line be attached to the wrong spot on the IP? Is that possible?

Just so you can check and rule out that possibility, I'll toss in a picture of the IP cylinder numbers. I think this is Oldbull's picture.

Did you take the lines out of the clamps? If so you may have injector end on pump.

That's impossible.
Looks like #1 and #8 are mixed up.

no doubt about it from a closer look.

you have #1 on #8 location on the pump.

x2 on getting the injector side on the IP, it would hit every other line.
done this, fixed that lol
