Anyone know if the tall-block truck engine bolt pattern is the same as the short-block?
I have a C70 with a 366 tall in it that I would like to find a diesel replacement for.
What are the choices? (Please tell me that it is an SAE pattern <grin>).
I also have a C60 with a 427 F.I. tall *they call it an F.I., but it's really throttle-body injection.
Both are 5-speeds. Are they the same pattern? Does this match any diesel patterns?
If not, are the adaptors hard to find?

Just exploring my options here. The 366 is sick, and needs replacing. The 427 truck is just a frame, so its hard to tell much
about it. Runs great, very fast, in good shape, but I have no idea how it would pull. So, unless I find a drop-in diesel, that
is what is going in the C70. But I _really_ like a diesel for winch work - it just idles out what most gas rigs have to rev for.

all i know is that the 4.3 - 454 GM/GMC only, share the same bolt pattern for the bell housing. tall or short deck, dont matter.
BOPC are completely different.
not to sure about diesel apps, the only time i have chevys, there on the trailer being sent to the junkyard :D
