i am going to be building an engine for a mud truck and i dont plan on running a heater core. i have heard some people say if you cap off each end of the water pump you may cause an air bubble and not cool properly. so do i just run a heater hose to the location of the heater core and loop it back?

You don't need that much hose. Just run a loop from the fitting at the curb side head by the dipstick to the one at the top of the water pump. Your good.

I did that when my heater core blew a leak, then left it that way cause in AZ I never turn on the heater in winter anyway.

Loop it on the 302, it's part of a constant circuit from the water pump. It'd be a good place for a coolant filter.

Does the engine have a bypass hose or some sort of built in bypass. Most do.
