I have a 94 gmc k3500 the motor is destroyed and I was wondering if it is possible to put a mechanical 6.5 in and what all needs to be done and swapped to convert a mechanical 6.5 to electronic.

all you really need is to unplug all the electronics, remove the electronic pump and the lines with it, and put in a mechanical pump and lines. wire in the power to the "on" solenoid and the cold idle circuit and you're done. you'll prolly need to pull the bulb on the CEL or put a piece of tape over the symbol. Other than that, you're good to go.

So none of the gauges on the dash would work either like no oil pressure or temp, tach etc... and the gas pedal is electronic also so how does that work? I was told to swap the top of my motor over so that it everything would still work???

is it auto or manual? if it is auto, you will need to wire in a TPS to the mechanical pump to let the trans know. as for the throttle, get a cable for a 88-93 diesel. they were mechanical.

Some reason I wanna say the ds4 won't directly bolt on.
Yeah mechanical is great, but I'd stick with the ds4. Do the Pmd relocate.

i knew a guy with a DS4 burb that had the relocate done. not all of it's issues were solved. every now and then it would go into black smoke production mode with no power and then all of a sudden, it would go back to normal with no warning. i spend a month going though everything and finally gave up and told him to live with it or get rid of it.

Chit happens.
A lot is the quality of the pmd/relocate kit. I was seeing one guy was doing them crappily out of his basement.
Also the optical sensor can give problems/be hard to diagnose.
