I am really interested as well. Have you done it yet? If so how did it work out? If not I guess I may be the first one. I have seen 1/2 outlet sumps online for under $30. Thats what I will get and just run 1/2" line up to the lift pump, where I will have to shrink it a little. Not a big deal really. And I plan on running a electric push pump right next to the rear tank (getting rid of the front one).

The powerstroke guys are loving them.
Can't remember the one brand, but they tested it by beating the crap out of it with a sledgehammer with it mounted. It was a YouTube video.

79jasper: It would be awesome (Beans Diesel BTW) but its for a plastic tank. We will need to weld one in unless you get a plastic tank as well.

That's it. I had asked a distributor about that and he said it should work fine on a steel tank.
But my rear is plastic, front is metal. Cookoo

Then you are in luck with the rear. Let us know how it works for you. Also do you think 1/2" line is to big for an IDI?

Be a while before I get one.
Size should be fine. Definitely better if you have some goodies installed and the pump turned up, etc.

79jasper: What goodies do you mean? Like a turbo or do you mean electric pusher pump? My pump is already turned up and I do plan on adding an electric pusher pump.

79jasper: I never heard of a bigger IP. Perhaps sticking with 3/8 or reducing the 1/2 as I planned will be just fine.

Oh ok. I was thinking there was a physically larger pump I never heard of. Ya, reduction just before the lift pump is probably the best idea. That way you have fuel ready to go in a fuel log type situation.
