Yesterday after work I was able to get the deck on. Still have to rip one narrow piece for the center, but other than that it's finished.

I also got the lights and license plate on.

And here is what I came up with for the filler

Next on the list is mud flaps, and I scored some free tool boxes at work so those should be going on this weekend.

Nice job. I like the placement of the stake pockets inboard. Any toolboxes?
edit: I see you're getting some toolboxes.

It might be the angle but it looks like if you hit a good bump with the tire its gonna hit the filler cap.

By the looks of this the filler neck is too flat. It should have a decent slope into the tank, or you can drive on a block everytime you fill up.

Still not sure how I feel about the mudflaps. I think the diamond plate looks kind of out of place. I'm liking the toolboxes though. They hold a ton, and it rained all night and everything stayed dry.

This bed has turned out great!! I think if you paint the mud flaps to match the bed it might look more coherent. also how long are those tool boxes? i have never seen boxes like that. those are really cool.

Thanks. The boxes are 4' long. They are weatherguard packrat boxes, and I'm told they are pretty pricey. The mudflaps i might paint black, I'm going to wait awhile and see if they grow on me first.

i agree about the mudflaps. diamond plate to me is only tasteful is small amounts. try something simple like a tractor.

i personally think mud flaps should be set lower. they do not need to run the entire height of the tire. rocks are thrown from 2 thirds of the tire height.

You can do what you feel is nessesary for mud flaps- I make a statement with mine. Paint them black if they are out of place. Here is the set I made for my Dodge. I will eventually polish the stainless steel.
