Also for a primary filter you would use a higher micron rating like a 12 then your secondary would be your stock filter, whether its 12 (7.3) or 6 (6.9) micron. This way the primary catches the bigger stuff then the secondary stock will catch the rest. This gives you longer intervals instead of plugging up a super fine 2 micron filter all the time.

My plans are to mount a Facet Dura-Lift pump under the hood. I'm going to mount a Goldenrod water separator filter ( 15 micron ) before the pump and then some kind of finer filter after the pump.

If your fuel level was higher than the point of where you cut the line, it caused a siphon. If you blew air in the line towards the tank, the siphon would of stopped. Glad to hear it all worked out for you though.
