please explain the pros and cons of 1stvs 2nd generation 12v cummins

I'd take the one still in the truck assuming you don't have much labor to get the engine pulled. 130k is not a whole lot on these engines, assuming this is accurate and the engine hasn't been idling in the truck for a long time and you have some idea of how it was maintained. The only reason I chose this was because you do not have any papers on the rebuild and you don't know the hours that it has been on the stand running, etc. Now, if the maintenance records are available and do not show regular oil changes, I'd go for the rebuild.

Here's the info,
engine is all orginal 177k on it, was a railway company welding truck, regular maintance on it , the ruck looks like hell , but again 177k on it- 2500 for this one
+us 3500 conversion parts
Grand total 6000 with a 177k engine
Rebuild 7.3 is 6500 pretty much new, now is the 95 cummins justifiably that much better ???
I'm askin cuz I have no clue
