How do you add a fuel filter restriction gauge to a fuel filter head like we have, or to a regular auxiliary filter head? Does it just go on the filter inlet?

Been thinking about adding an auxiliary 2-micron filter between the stock filter and IP, and I saw some filter restriction gauges on Ebay and thought, hey- I should put one of those on each filter head so I wouldn't end up unnecessarily changing filter.

Usually a filter dirty gauge is set up to monitor both sides of a filter. This is called Delta or differential pressure. When the diff pressure rises the filter is dirty.
You can also monitor the pressure on the outlet. When the filter is new the outlet and inlet pressure can be almost equal. As the filter clogs, the outlet pressure will fall. You can decide when the filter is dirty enough to change.

I haven't yet but I am planning on putting a fuel pressure gauge between filter and inj. pump. I would feel alot better knowing my pump is getting enough fuel.
