6.9 fuel economy after turbo add and fuel screw increase

Yes, under towing or high altitude situations, that's when you'll see a bit of an improvement in MPG with a turbo compared to N/A, but day to day putting around you won't notice much.

Hybrid factory turbo collector to Banks turbo, ideas please.

They probably opened it up and had to call all their friends over to admire the quality work.

Hybrid factory turbo collector to Banks turbo, ideas please.

Haha! Great! I keep my expectations low with the shipping processes, that way i'm less likely to be disappointed by it!

Here in B.C, Prince George Fuel Injection has built some good pumps for me.

Hybrid factory turbo collector to Banks turbo, ideas please.

Yup I do have the Banks up pipes still, so I can use whatever from them. I'd like to use the flange joint for the turbo inlet coupling as i've never had any leak problems there, it's a conventional flange and that can be my disconnect point if necessary. Then i'd like to weld to the slip...

Hybrid factory turbo collector to Banks turbo, ideas please.

I'm messing with a project with a Banks 1st gen turbo and I am trying to eliminate the ridiculously long and inefficient Banks up pipes (which needed to get redone anyways). I am wanting to use an exhaust Y collector from a factory turbo kit, and fabricate a nice short up-pipe to the Banks...

ISO 1 gen Banks manual trans pedestal.

Needle in a haystack, but thought id try anyways. Looking for a 1st gen non gated Banks turbo pedestal for a manual trans. Im in Canada, and will happily pay well to get it here.

    Yeah, hood off for sure

    Installing engine and trans together.

I've pulled and installed many idi engines. Curious about pulling/installing them with the ZF5 attached? I have lots of lifting power/reach and means of support. Im doing an install of both engine and trans in the bush soon without means of a decent jack or decent ground to work on. The...

    High pressure fuel pumps

I would go Bosch 7.3 powerstroke lift pump (which tend to have a long life) and a regulator.

    Valve Stem Seals

Installing comp 910's for the first time on a turboed 6.9. And since the umbrella seals on the exhaust don't fit right with the 910s, I will install them without seals on the exhaust side as I don't want to install the positive seals on the exhaust, in fear of accelerated guide wear.

    Valve Stem Seals

And many of us, including myself; see less guide wear in 6.9's. Only thing that makes sense is the looser/non existent valve seals.

    Valve Stem Seals

Following. Did you come up with anything. Im a fan of the umbrella type but as you say, they don't fit well under the Comp 910's. I don't want anything too positive on the exhaust side.

Carter P4070 Electric fuel pump failures.

Go electric for a gauge. Buy once, cry once. They do seem to last. And they can really narrow down an issue on the side of the road, or give you some heads up to an upcoming problem. I use Autometer usually for fuel psi gauges.

Carter P4070 Electric fuel pump failures.

Buying one as a spare is smart. If yours on your van is an "early" one, it may be good for a loooong time, as they used to be. They were a great pump. Really a shame they went to ****

    Anti Gel Product (Howes)

Another vote for Howes not doing what it's supposed to. Doesn't help with gelling and there has been no study anywhere that I have found (and i've looked hard) to show that it adds any form of lubricity. IN FACT, there was one that showed a DECREASE in overall lubrication when in use. It's...

    Automatically priming fuel system hack

This is a topic that has gone thru and will continue to go through revisions. QC changes on everything, circumstances change, etc etc. It's good to keep this discussion going as there will always be updates on QC of all pumps, ways to install them, results etc. That's what's great about...

    Yukon Duragrip in Sterling 10.25

Good advice, maybe next time I will get a Eaton or Detroit. So far, for average driving, light duty off road/slippery driveways etc, the Yukons have been good. We'll see how they stand up long term
