    THSIM9’s 1991 F250 Project

You will need a temp gauge to see if you are running cool enough. With that aluminum radiator you should have no problem.

    12V power for accessories

You can bolt it to anything that is cast iron on the motor. Not a valve cover or any other sheet metal.

    V-belt tension

This goes back aways! I have not seen this in ages!

    Leaking valve covers

Put them on snug but NOT over tight. RTV them on if you don't need to get into the valve covers. BOTH sides of the gasket.

    12V power for accessories

Yes you can use one power source to power multiple circuits. Just divide it right after the ignition switch. This is how automobiles have been wired.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I work in Home Depot's paint dept and our Exterior Dynasty paint is almost $80.00 per gallon!

    Return line question

All of the injectors are connected by the return line. It goes from one injector to another and to another and finally to the fuel tank. Look again and you will see this.

    IDI Newbie

I share your feelings on manual trannys. I had a Detroit 8V92TA with a 13 speed tranny. I loved that combination! You could shift 3 or 4 times going thru an intersection. I "raced" that rig many times against other trucks going from the stop light to the ped zing. The winner might get past...

    Is it my alternator?

What is the voltage at the Battery when charging form the alternator? It should be around 12.6 or more. This will show the alternator is charging. If the voltage is less, then the alternator is bad.

The rear tank doesn’t like to take fuel

Do you have the vent pipe free of garbage?

Another good reason to stay out of Calif.

Everything in California is garbage. i work in a paint dept for Home Depot and we sell TSP, a product that does NOT contain any TSP, for cleaning walls before painting. Gets rid of any oil or grease that will cause paint NOT to stick on the walls.

    7.3 Diesel Transmission Adaptor Plate

We ALL run into this when "updating" our trucks and other old vehicles. Finding the right parts is HARD. Finding part suppliers might be the easiest way to do this. 4wheelparts.com is where we could find Jeep parts. Maybe there is one or two suppliers for our IDI parts.

Another good reason to stay out of Calif.

My take on all of this "global warming" is the earth is fixing the high CO2 by growing billions more plants/trees to produce O2. Higher temperatures go along with this. The earth is self regulating to a point, but what is this point? Nobody knows this until we reach the domes day point...

Trailered home a 1989 F350 dump truck that looks great on the outside, but the 7.3 IDI is something else

I DO remember. a seatbelt that was attached to the seat frame. I can't remember which vehicle it was in nor the year. This was back when seat belts were first required in cars and trucks.

Another good reason to stay out of Calif.

Wow! A "conversation" of a very political subject that is very civil and informative! I completely agree with most of what has been said. Calif is a GREAT state if you stay away from the big cities. This is why I moved to Mendocino County. It is very rural and pretty with all of the Redwood...
