Thanks for the info!! I did not know. Heck my ignorant behind didn’t even think of that.
And it looks like R12 and R134a are non flammable according to the Google machine. So why would they start using flammable refrigerants now in newer cars?
@KansasIDI i was wondering if I dare ask about the tool box on its back!! Glad you did it @XOLATEM
I’ve been mad before and my boot has upsided things of that nature!! 3 hours, you work fast!!
I’m talking above my pay grade here. But might wanna consider HFC-152a vs a R134a conversion.
FFW this video to 20:30 seconds and he goes through it.
He finds it works well (5-15% better) vs the 134a in old R12 designed systems.
He also mentions early in that video, if you feel a...
Parts 1 & 2 for a longer watch. But goes through it well and why. I found them very informative. Just trying to help with old R12 stuff.
The videos say they don’t work, but if you click “watch on YouTube”, they work. Or they did for me.
Did you check your vent temps?
I like this guy......
He gets 38F vent temps on a 90F degree day at idle. He uses HFC-152a (compressed air cans) refrigerant cause its properties closely match R12.
Give me a break, it’s an IDI at least LOL
I fired the van to move to a shadier spot. Fired without issue, R12 still very nice.
I need to fix a leaky return line. Parts ordered. Just gotta make the time

The fluid/fluid cooler does aid in warming, but it’s primary purpose is it’s ability to transfer heat much more efficiently than an air/water cooler. AND it works in low speed situations.
The folks here taught me that an...
is it a new trans? Why did you go with the US Shift controller?
I’m of the old adage that 170F or below, otherwise the fluid degrades exponentially with temp. Like you I have also read about the 100F over ambient.
I have also read and watched about these new fluids being so good that 200F is...
I worded that badly, she was in great spirits, I was the annoyed one, not her. But she got to practice 4-lo with rear locker engaged. We aren’t a muddy mess, but we are really soft right now.
