E40D DIESEL AND GAS OUTPUT SHAFT DIFFERENCES.

So i have a 2wd diesel with an E4OD trans, I have another trans out of a 460 powered truck and its a 4x4 trans. is the output shaft from the gasser teh same as it would be for the diesel?

I am thinking about tearing the trans down and swapping the output shaft and the tail housing on both transmissions to end up with a 4x4 trans for my 7.3 and then a 2wd trans for the 460 that i can just sell as extra parts.

I have another question What year did the E4od change for the newer powerstroke?

Is the trans behind the 460 a E4OD? What years are both transmissions?

Turns out they are the same output shaft.
