"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Nope I just had that added in since I had a clean tank and was going to paint it anyway.

Front Hub - 1991 F350 4x2 Dually - How To Tell If Wheel Bearings Are Bad?

I had an alignment shop tell me that once too. They tightened the spindle nut all the way down and ended up destroying my bearings. Next time I'm just going to tell them to get it as close as they can....

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Like everything else I do on this project I have a plan to unnecessarily overcomplicate the mounting system for the taller tank. I'll share that when I get it done LOL

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Kinda. If you look closely at the first picture at this link you can see there is a NPT bung welded in next to the filler neck hole. I'd have to double check but it's either 3/4" or 1". I plan to run it to the filler neck just like the newer trucks are set up...

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

We will see. I think I'm going to put the wiring harness in next and then deal with the tank after that's in place. Did you pull the bed off when you did yours?

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

It should. I have the same hitch on the other truck and have dropped the tank a few times. Only difference is this one will be the bigger 38gal tank going in.

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Yes and no. Much easier to do without the fuel tank in the way and better access with the bed off too. Last time I was laying upside down trying to see with chips coming down, this time I was just sitting next to it hahaha.

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

As the weather has allowed I've sprayed some more of the frame down. Today I finished installing the new hitch. I even decided to bevel the square washers so they'd fit flat along the inside of the frame instead of being angled. Hit them with cold galv for good measure. I hit any spots that...

    Double Cardan Front Driveshaft Parts

How did you make out with this? I'll be looking at this pretty soon myself. I see this one on RockAuto but haven't done any other looking yet.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Went on a 2hr drive to pick up a car for someone yesterday. Sadly I think that'll be the last load until I get the swap done. The clutch is getting much worse. I'm not sure how much of it is the clutch or if some of it is the firewall but it's time to stop using it the way it is unfortunately...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I ordered a kit for my truck a few weeks ago. Box showed up the same way. They certainly weren't packaged very well! Doesn't help putting the plastic bands on because everyone tries to carry the box by the bands and they cut into the box kinda defeating the purpose....

    Linking gas tanks

While you can do that, my suggestion would be an electric pump to transfer fuel from one to the other. At least that way you don't have to drop the tanks at all. If you get a little creative with the wiring you can still swap between sending units and see the level in both tanks.

DRW to SRW Pros cons discussion

I have both and much prefer towing with my dually. My SRW has a noticable amount of sway compared to the DRW. It's not a difference I couldn't live with but the DRW stability is very nice. It's also (as previously mentioned) great when you have the inevitable blowout. I've lost a few tires and...

How should this function? fuel filter head.

I deleted mine. I just plugged the hose and put a pipe plug in the filter head. You can hook it back up if you want to but if your return lines leak that will pull air in. With that plugged you wont suck air if your return lines leak, but you'll have to work a little harder to bleed air after a...

    7.3 Powerstroke/6.0 Powerstroke Vaccuum Pump

I have one running the hvac controls in my truck but I don't believe they put out anywhere near enough to run the brakes. Those trucks all came with hydroboost from the factory. I haven't tried running the cruise control off it either, it just doesn't flow very much. Not an issue for you though...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Somewhere around September I swapped out the sending unit in Diego. Wanted to take it to my friends pig roast. 4hr drive each way, wanted a working fuel gauge. Some of you may remember I had air issues... Replaced the quick connect on the feed line and good to go! Got down there and it was...

    Backpressure on exhaust

I have a glass pack on mine and it's not terrible but it's still pretty loud. It gets old on the highway for long trips. The common myth about back pressure comes from the fact that a properly sized exhaust will have a scavenging effect which will actually assist with pulling the exhaust gases...

    Fumoto oil drain plug size??

I'm pretty sure mine was 1/2-20 but it looks like all the aftermarket oil pans are m14 now so if you have the stock pan on a 7.3 you should be good to get 1/2-20

    Vac to electric cruise?

Yes. There is a write up somewhere for the conversion and it really doesn't look difficult. I'll be trying it myself someday when I can track down a good electric cruise module from a 92+ truck. I think it was literally just running wires but it's been a while since I looked.

So what did you do with your truck today?

That would be nice but I'm not sure I'd want the extra hole in the cab. I have seen them done that way though.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Well I feel kinda dumb but maybe it just needed time to soak? Yeah probably not.... This summer I tried doing some work on the "scrap trailer" I bought this year. It's just a little 5x10 trailer, perfect for a lawnmower or something. It's had a load of scrap in it for several months now hahaha...

    Sticky Throttle

I just bought whatever Napa had last time. I wasn't knocking that brand just never heard of them. I think Walker is all I've ever used but that doesn't mean they're great, just the only ones I've tried. I needed 4 inch and they were $14 on Amazon or $18 at Napa made in USA stamped on the box so...

Can't say anything about that brand but yes band clamps are great in general.

    Sticky Throttle

If it is the metering valve sticking I've had pretty good luck with Hotshots Extreme fuel cleaner. The pump on Tank is starting to show it's age and a dose of that stuff whips it back into shape for a little bit longer when things start sticking. It's not enjoying sitting not getting driven.
